Frequently Asked Questions

State Fair Bangor Ferris Wheel

Are camping spaces available at the fair?

Not for the general public. We have a limited number of camping sites on our grounds. These sites are available to Agricultural participants first, because they have animals to tend to. Leftover spaces go to vendors and attractions, so there are no spaces left for the general public to rent. There are many camping areas within a short drive to the Fair, which can be found on The Maine Camping Guide at http://www.campmaine.com.

Are Premium Books available this year?

Due to the rising cost of printing and mailing these books, the Bangor State Fair has now created an electronic premium book on this website. Click on "Contests/Premiums" above and you will find PDF files of all competitions. An actual physical book will not be printed. However, if you are not able to download the PDF files on this site, you may request hard copies of certain competitions by calling 207-947-5555 or emailing fair@bangormaine.gov. Be sure to specify which competitions you would like and give your full name and mailing address.

How much does it cost to get into the Fair?

Admission to the 2011 Bangor State Fair is $10.00 for everyone. This includes all the Shows, all the Concerts, all the Exhibitions, all the Contests AND UNLIMITED RIDES ALL DAY!

I would like to be a performer at your fair. How can I get hired?

Performers who wish to be hired for the next Bangor State Fair should send information to: Bangor State Fair, 100 Dutton Street, Bangor, ME 04401

Audio or visual samples of your work (videos, DVD's, cassettes or CD's) are helpful. Include pricing information for a ten day fair. All information is kept on file from year to year. We start booking attractions in the Fall for the following year.

May I bring my dog to the fair?

For the safety of all fairgoers, no pets of any kind are allowed on the midway, with the exception of service animals. On a limited basis, pets of participants are allowed in the Agricultural Area (for the 4-H Dog Show, for example). For their safety, animals left in vehicles will be reported to the proper authority.

What is the Fair's Smoking Policy?

The Bangor State Fair became the State's first Smoke Free Midway in 2010.
Smoking on the Fairgrounds is limited to 5 conveniently located areas, far enough away from activity so as not to impact on non-smokers, but not isolated.
Those wishing to smoke while visiting the Fair will be directed to these 'Kiosks'. Children under 18 are not allowed in or near the 'kiosks'
